Customer email,
answered as a team.
Mail to your support address becomes a ticket. Your team answers from one queue, every reply goes out as an email, and customers follow their tickets without an account. Free to start, live in 30 seconds.
Free forever. No credit card.
A helpdesk’s request form
How can we help?
Or write to [email protected]. Already wrote? See your tickets.
What a helpdesk here does.
One address, email both ways
Your helpdesk gets its own address the day you start, and each new email to it opens a ticket. Replies go out as email with your name on them and thread in your customer’s inbox. Forward [email protected] to it and customers keep writing where they always have.
The whole story on one page
Mine, Unassigned and All open, the customer waiting longest first. Each ticket shows the conversation, your team’s notes and every change, and a saved reply arrives with the customer’s name filled in. If anyone wrote while you typed, nothing is sent until you have read it.
Customers need no account
A receipt with the ticket’s number, a link to follow it, and Your tickets by an emailed sign-in link, with no password. Once it is resolved they rate the answer Great, Okay or Not good, and Not good tells the person it was assigned to.
AI that drafts, people who send
Turn on Draft a reply and Summarize when you want them: a first draft in your customer’s language, from the conversation and your help center, that a person edits and sends. Your own AI agent can work the queue through the API, with a key that only reaches tickets.
Underneath, a platform that is yours.
Your data, in its own database
Your site is a database file of its own, not rows in a table shared with everyone else. Download all of it, anytime, on every plan.
Undo a bad day
Restore your entire site to any moment in the last 30 days. Recent changes, to the second.
Your own domain
Put it on your domain with automatic SSL, from the Starter plan.
In your visitors’ language
Every word the platform draws, from buttons to error messages and emails, in 17 languages, right to left included.
An API for everything
Everything you can click is also an endpoint, with scoped keys and webhooks, on every plan.
Hosted and handled
We run the servers, the updates, and the backups. You publish.
Free to start, one price for the team.
On the free plan: one seat, unlimited tickets from your request form, 100 emails in a month, 50 emails to customers a day, saved replies, ratings and the API. Starter gives three seats and your own domain, takes 2,000 emails a month, sends 500 a day, and lets your team write first to anyone.

Coming from Help Scout? See how we compare
Help Scout’s free plan answers 100 customers a month, with 10 saved replies and no API. Past it, Standard is $30 per user a month ($25 billed yearly), so a team of three pays $90, and AI drafts, summaries and a customer portal start on Plus, at $54 per user. Simplest1 Helpdesk is $19 a month for a team of three, with your own domain, ticket pages for your customers and the API.
| What | Help Scout | Simplest1 Helpdesk |
|---|---|---|
| On the free plan | 5 users, 1 inbox, 100 customers answered a month, 10 saved replies, no API | 1 seat, 100 emails in a month, 50 emails to customers a day, unlimited saved replies, the API |
| A team of three | Standard, $90 a month or $75 billed yearly | Starter, $19 a month or $190 a year, save 17% |
| Priced by | Each user, each month | Each site; Pro covers every app and unlimited seats for $69 |
| Customers see their tickets | A customer portal, from Plus at $54 per user a month ($45 yearly) | On every plan, signed in by an emailed link |
| AI drafts and summaries | From Plus, unlimited | On every plan, from the plan’s AI suggestions: 50, 1,000 or 5,000 a month |
| Taking your conversations | Through their Inbox API only, which starts on Standard | The whole site as files, on every plan |
Help Scout does more: live chat, SMS, WhatsApp and social messages, workflows and SLAs, reports with their history, an AI assistant that answers customers by itself, and five users on its free plan. If you need those, it is worth its price.

Moving over
Point your address
Forward [email protected] to your helpdesk’s address. From that minute every email to it opens a ticket here, an answer to an old conversation included.
Bring your saved replies
There is no Help Scout importer. Copy your saved replies by hand or through the API; they can fill in the customer’s first name, their full name, the ticket’s number and yours.
Add your team, leave the history
Invite up to three members on Starter, or everyone on Pro. Past conversations do not move over, so close them where they are while new mail arrives here.
Questions, answered.
Do replies come from my own address?
They come from your helpdesk’s address, like [email protected], with your name on them: “Priya at Acme Support”. Forward your own support@ address to it so customers keep writing there; their answers land on the right ticket either way. Sending from your own domain is not offered yet.
Can my team answer from their phone?
Yes, from their own email. The alert about a customer’s message can be answered like any email, and the answer goes to the customer as that person’s reply. Start it with #note and it stays a note for the team.
Is there live chat?
No. Tickets come by email, by the request form on your site, and through the API. If your customers expect an answer within seconds, a chat tool will serve them better.
How is this different from Zendesk?
Zendesk has no free plan, only a 14-day trial, and is priced per agent: its first plan, Support Team, is $19 an agent a month paid yearly, so three agents pay $57 a month. Here the free plan stays free, and Starter gives three seats for $19 a month. Zendesk’s Suite plans add live chat, voice and AI agents that answer on their own; this has none of them.
What happens to my tickets if I leave?
Download everything anytime, the whole site as files, tickets and their attachments included. If you close your site, you have 30 days to take everything with you.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Enter an address, your name and your email, and you are live on the free plan. We ask for payment only when you upgrade.
